I traditionally tell my own version of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving to fourth grade classes just before Halloween. It is a combination of narration and excerpts from the original text. After my presentation, several of the students shared the information that they had seen the animated version of this story on TV the previous evening. "But we liked your story better. Can you tell it again sometime?"
