Rose, The Story Lady



I have a variety of storytelling programs available. Programs are 25-40 minutes long and involve students through participation, discussion and visual aids. Programs are adapted to the ages of the students.


A TOUCH OF MAGIC
Talking animals, magic objects, and magic spells bring magic into the lives and hearts of children.

THE IMPORTANCE OF ME
The heroes and heroines solve problems through self-reliance, integrity and initiative in these multicultural tales. Provides message that "I can make a difference."


OLD TALES WITH A NEW TWIST
Meet Sleeping Ugly and an Indian Cinderella. What Happens if the Three Little Pigs have to deal with a dragon or a coyote?

GOLDEN TALES OF CALIFORNIA
Stories, anecdotes, and historical information are interwoven in a 45-50 minute interactive program for Grades 4-5. Students are spellbound as they learn of our Spanish heritage and events of the Gold Rush period of time. Students are invited to participate in the program. A question and answer period is offered at the conclusion.


TALES ACROSS AMERICA
Stories from different geographic areas of America. Explores Old World roots and how the stories may have traveled to and across America. Especially appropriate for Grades 4-5.

TALL TALES
Explores many kinds of tall tales. Students will listen to a "new" tall tale, traditional tall tales and help create a tall tale

STORYTELLER'S MIXED BAG
I can create a program to meet your needs. (Mother Goose, Scary Stories, Ecology, Seasons, Lunar New Year)

CHINESE WRITING AND STORIES
This program is particularly appropriate for Chinese New Year but can be used year round. Chinese writing is woven into a story, its origin is explored and students participate in creating their own Chinese dictionary.

READING CONNECTIONS
Fat Cat is an audience participation story with connections to fairy tales, folk tales and books. Reading connections will be provided for each story.

Additional Services to schools include a packet of classroom activities which tie storytelling into the curriculum. A question and answer period is provided whenever time allows.
